I bought the game and DLC. The art is beautiful, and the game itself is beautifully made. It is obvious that a lot of effort was put into it. Dialogues are rather sweet and hilarious. I had one playthrough and got Ending 4, which felt like a natural conclusion.
Although I did expect the game to be longer. Just when I thought something dramatic would happen, the happy forever after happened instead. That was some very fast progression of flirting. (:

Ok I had to add more cuz I've been saying a review from the moment I went to sleep to the moment i came out the shower. The costumisation system was defo one of my fav things, why? I can make myself, how I look (obv I dont look as ethereal) but I can make black folks! Best believe I squealed when I say that option because usually there's no costumisation or the skin tones are just for lighter skinned people :(
Another thing I loved was the fact that I was able to write my own bio, set up my own room, and make it feel like this was MY roleplay, not anyone else's. I've never been so invested and it's all because the texts sounded like me, the character looked like me, and the way GrimGrim spoke? HE SOUNDED TOO REAL I WANT HIM SO BAD.
Our text convos sounded like one I would have and it makes me wonder just how much effort was put into this game.
Obv my favourite part was none other than the Grim Reaper himself. The change from all cold and edgy to being flustered so easily is just tooo cute! I could just talk to him all day without the other things.. Please make that a thing where we're just texting without the time limit I'm willing to max out my credit card. This has set the bar up so high since it's the first dating game on PC I;ve played XD

I'm IN LOVE WITH THIS GAME, the dialogue was pretty amusing, and most importantly it was super natural. It made me giggle and kick my feet. I LIVE FOR THE GRIM REAPER'S PERSONALITY. I haven't unlocked all the endings yet, but I've unlocked one ending that left me feeling satisfied. OVERALL I'D GIVE THIS GAME A COMPLETE 100000000000/10 because it's a banger, totally loved it 100%. I wish i found it sooner.૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა.

A Date with a Cat Death. I bought the DLC and have played through the game twice. It's very entertaining, but I'd really like to know how many different endings there are. So far, I've gotten two different ones, but most of the dialogue through out the game doesn't change much. My guess is that there's a total of four endings, but I'd really appreciate if someone could verify that.
Well, the game's finalize button doesn't work after character creation, so I can't say how the game was. It looks like a lot of work was done from whatever I saw till then.
Genuinely one of the most fun dating sims and visual novels I've ever played.
If you're playing as intended you'll probably reach the base good ending no matter what you choose, but the choices you do get to make have genuine impact in conversation. It's clear that the developers knew what they were doing in that regard.
The game gives you just the right amount of agency over your character. The MC never felt like a self-insert, more like a character I was roleplaying as. I found myself consistently asking what my character would do as opposed to what I would do.
The love interest (yes, I'm dancing around his name, finding out is part of the fun) is very refreshing and doesn't really fall into any archetype. Chatting with him is fun and it doesn't need to be any deeper than that. His sprites are also delightfully expressive.
The art! The art is so nice! My single pet peeve is the directionless lighting in the floating scene, other than that it's all so perfect. The stylized textboxes and windows should get some love as well.
All in all, A Date With Death was clearly made with lots of love and attention to detail. I'd definitely recommend it!

I firmly believe that this is my fault, but I lost all my progress. I have been eavesdropping on the neighbors in the game and missed the last day's text because I played with my pet for 15 whole minutes, which don't get me wrong I loved, so I got out of the game got back into it and there were only two saves from that day, which is weird because I am a slow reader and did take a break from the game before continuing it so it gave the autosave enough time to save, I looked back into previous save slots and there was nothing, so I went back to the first couple slots and those two were gone and replaced by a MUCH earlier save. Either way, I loved the game. I do wish that the autosaves didn't disappear but it is completely fine I will just replay the game I absolutely ADORE Casper so very much after all. I will not lie I have never loved a character or even a person as much as I love Casper, I could go on and on about how much I love him. But I won't. I just wanted to bring this to your attention, I do not know if anyone else has had this issue but it is completely fine I'm just a little sad I didn't get to finish the game before losing all my progress. I would have probably replayed the game either way so, like I said, it is completely fine! And sorry if this is all my fault and I am just being dumb. If I remember correctly the ONLY save there is the one I manually saved, if that helps at all.

I have honest to God never seen a better visual novel game that wasn't a psychological horror. I shed an actual tear at Ending 2. I squealed when he gave my flowers. I JUST finished the game and omg...Casper is so babygirl and bastard at the same time. Anyway, he's a well written character and honestly so is MC. Even though only a week went by their relationship progress feels very natural. I really liked their little convos and it made me feel connected to them and their relationship. Writing and artwork is simply amazing :D
I was very impressed with overall UI design and wide range of customization: different hairstyles/clothes and room that you can change and interact with (!). I loved those joke adds popping out lol. I enjoyed seeing a different website every time I opened up the browser, I actually took my time playing mini-games. It was SO FUN, just like this entire game.
I saw people talking about this game on Tumblr, and while I held high expectation this game definitely exceeded them. I'm kind of dating sim/otome games veteran and this game easily joins my favorites. I can't wait for the DLC to come out. Great job, I want more! :D
